I would very much appreciate if only ONE of all readers who have posted a comment could answer me a few questions:
1) Why would Falklanders want or wish to live and belong to Argentina?
2) How many times has an argentine government turned to claiming the islands ONLY when their political/financial/economical situation ran into serious problems? I remember at least 4 times in the last 50 years............
3) How many of those posting comments herein, live in Argentina??
Mind you, I'm born, raised and live in Buenos Aires, So nobody can come to me with ludricous ideas.
I really don't think that Falklanders prefer to become argentine citizens. As to my own preferences, I would most certainly prefer to become a british citizen than continue to be under the ruling of one of the most corrupt government in the whole 200 years of history.
I had the idea that Canada was a civilized country. How wrong I was!!!! I most certainly protest at their villanous acts against these animals. Canada must be condemned for this. NO DOUBT.
After having followed all the debates todate, all I can say is that he is nothing but another liar, just as Obummer.
If elected, americans will soon be crying, and then yes: whatever is left of the good old US will be vanished for good!!
Perfect description of these backward groups. But fortunately some of them are already becoming aware of their mistakes and finding no other way out of the very same system they have created, finally decide to commit suicide. That's great, 'cause it saves us from takking them to court in the near future. Don't you think so?
I fully agree with you. And even 10 Nations is too many. When talks started in early 80s, Sweden and G.Britain were definitely against this. And no question, they were absolutely right!!
Back in the 80's when talks started on having a common currency for all Europe, I clearly remember that Sweden was definitely aginst it, so was G.Britain and few others. Namely, they were of the idea that one system and currency for all Europe was unfair. Particularly because most certainly Portugal, Greece, and later on the small central european countries such as Serbia, and similar, were not as strong and productive in many aspects as the others (Germany, Italy, Spain, France, etc.). Ever since the Euro, all those "weaker" countries (sorry to call them so) have been living from the stronger ones. Furthermore, some of them never came down to organizing their economies and kept spending enormous amounts which they had never "saved" or earned, you name it.
Most unfortunately for all argentinian citizens, the only thing that this exceedingly corrupt government wants and gets, is billions of pesos in their private bank account, with off-shore banking systems --naturally-- and nothing else. Everything and anything that can and will happen from now on, we have already experienced it many times before when we also were under dictatorships of different kind (military, political, etc.).
Citizens aged 60 and over know this perfectly well and all we can say is that THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF THEIR END. Search facts even in Wikipedia or wherever you deem. Mark my words. 1955, 1973, 1976,1983, 1989, 2002, MAKE YOUR PICK. Have fun!!
What!!??? Let me tell you that the only thing that's really growing in Argentina is INFLATION, UNEMPLOYMENT, CRIME, DRUG ADDICTS, ALCOHOLISM IN TEENAGERS, and what is worse still:
CORRUPTION AND LIES, LIES, LIES.
News in today's newspapers which inform that governement has issued an order restraining liberty of purchasing foreign currencies, no matter which, clearly shows that our government (I'm an argentinian born, raised and living in Buenos Aires, Argentina) has completely run out of reserves and therefore is desperate. We have lived thru similar periods in last 40 years, and they all ended with presidents hopping on to choppers and fleeing government. This time it will not be any different, and might also be worse, because it will be the lower classes who will suffer the consequences and they certainly have no means of defending themselves, but to turn to violence. I would have thought that at least two or three members in this profligate government would have a minimum quota of inteligent ideas/knowledge. But I was mistaken. All we can do now is sit tight and buckle seat belts, we will soon be crashing head-on.
To start with, Raoul Castro is already 90. But also, cubans are slowly trying to enter the XXIst century and many are managing to handle internet, etc. which means that they are slowly getting to know details of what it means to live under freedom and democracy. Besides they are very tired of being almost like "survivors" in a system that certainly is not giving them all they were promised. We have quite a number of cubans who have managed to get out of their island and have settled here (Buenos Aires, Argentina) where although life is not what it should be, still, it is a lot better than in Cuba.
We can still speak out when we are not satisfied with present govmnt.
Cuba and Cubans has been a big lie.
Both of them represent the two extremes. Humala to the left and Keiko to the right. Really sorry for Peru, a country that was finally on its way to becoming somewhere in between both extremes. No matter who wins, I doubt they will keep their promises of respecting the country's orthodox macroeconomic policies "mostly intact". Definitely I do not trust either of them. Would be very sad if Peru once more shifts into "reverse".
Dear Sir,since last July 15 Argentina passed a law on this particular subject. Since that day, we have equal right for all couples, same sex or straight couples. Everybody believed that the whole world would crumble. But no such thing happened. I'm extremely glad that this law came thru. Our Constitution grants all citizens equal rights, without specifying to which sex they belong. Only the Catholic Church grumbled, but they simply were reminded that prior to protesting they should first settle their very serious problems with their own priests involved in horrible pedofile cases by the hundreds. Yes, I certainly vote in favour of legalizing same sex marriages.
I wud much rather have Brazil chosen. No matter what our Queen Cristina may say about this. Although the recently elected President, Dilma, carries a dark past life with her......... But everybody says in Brazil that outgoing Lula keeps a tight grip on her. Let's hope he really does. Otherwise Brazil should start getting worried, very worried.
My guess is that you are referring to the "official" figures. If so, then you may rest assured that you are being cheated. Most private economists are more tha certain that the real amount of foreign reserves in our Central Bank can in no way go beyond 16b dollars. Our government is widely known as professional liars.
When Congress passed the "divorce" bill back in the 80's, most argentinians strongly believed that the whole society would be falling apart. That did not happen!! Now, the Catholic Church has practically affirmed that "we are practically declaring a war against God". Really!! Fanatism is a sickness.
Let it be understood: Maradona has most likely been a superb player, but as a person he had been nothing but one of the worst examples. He declares that Argentine is the love of his life, but carries tatoos of Che Guevara and Castro --but no argentine flag!! He should'nt be Argentina's coach. However, soon he will be overcome by Lionel Messi. And mnay of us will be extremely glad and very happy when this happens. He is just as bad as OJ Simpson!!
Dear Madam,I'm bilingual and whenever I travel abroad I find it quite difficult to understand what some people are talking about, particularly in the US. Will definitely stick to English-english the rest of my life. Same happens with Australian-english. My guess is that Canadian-english is the nearest to real English language.
Dear Madam,I certainly do not agree. To me, English is and will be for ever English. American-english is an absolute "deformation" of the language. Sorry, but I would much rather stick to the old English language I was taught at school and at home.
