I grew up in NYC and recall going to discos in the mid 70s as well partying to Grand Master Flash in the 70s. You are incorrect, even Blondie had a megga hip hot album in the 70s along with Disco hits.
I also would got to CBGBs in and see Punk acts in the mid 70s, plenty of them.

If you grew up in Kansas or some other backwater I can see why you are misinformed but in NYC, Disco, Hip Hop and Punk were all slamming from 1975-1980.

Facebook’s base, unlike Apples, Amazons and Google business users, are not into buying things or do the have discretionary income to burn. They are into gossip, pictures, chatting, etc.....It is inconceivable to me that that Facebook can significantly increase revenue for the Fortune 500 with a user base that is more interested in posting pictures of their lunch, then what the latest model of BMWs looks like.

The company has no killer apps so what would prevent competition ?

This is a very oversubscribed issue.

I cannot see Facebook sustaining a durable growth and revenue stream as will never be able to shun the privacy rap and data mining function is does which infuriates anyone over 35.

Interesting post from a 24 year old with I assume zero experience in the business world and not much life experience. How many companies with multi billion dollar IPOS and valuations have we seen go belly up in the DOT COM and banking meltdowns.

Ever hear of GM, Lehman Brothers,MCI, Exodus, Excite, Global Crossing, ATT, Northern Telecom, Qwest..... All either went bankrupt, had to be bailed out by the government or the competition > Even Apple was 1 quarter away from going under.

Anyone read the new Consumer’s report of Facebook? Pretty creepy. Facebook gathers statistics of every where you go on the Web whether you are logged in to Facebook or not. If you delete your account it will continue to do this for up to 90 days or 2 years depending if you believe Facebook or German regulators who brought suit.

When I started to see real listing of what my friends like or are reading and commenting on, particularly about people I did not know but could access info on, I figured it was time to delete my account.

The reason for the big tea party freshman class is low voter turn-out which is always the case in off Presidential Year elections. In 2012 be sure many of these numb skulls will be voted out. If you have not been paying attention, the tea party has the lowest favorability rating of all political bodies in the USA. I believe it to be 8%, which is precisely what Congress’s rating is.....what a surprise.

I don’t know where you live but I have lived in NY and California, been to 40 states and 13 countries. If you think the general population of gays is .05% to -3% for males you are living under a rock. I live in San Francisco and at least 20% of the population is gay. Salt Lake City and Dallas are the 2 highest per capita in terms of gay populace in the USA and hardly know as Gay Meccas. Have you been to Rio or Paris or Bangkok, London, Zurich, Manilla, Singapore and noticed the local populations all have a significant gay populace?

There are no Tea Party protests in San Francisco. I would suggest they are 5% of the population in the USA and many are astro turf and win only in low voter turn-outs.

The voters won’t put up with it and I gather the % of tea party members in the general public is no larger the amount of gays, 10% or so. Nothing will be accomplished and the people will tire of of it.

I am not an engineer, I am a licensed tax professional/MBA and I have to take 72 hours of continuing education every 3 years to keep my license current and have ethical standards I need to adhere to based on the IRS/Treasury Department's standard for education and ethical behaviour.

What is your point ? Real Estate Agents have standards far lower then the ones I must abide by to keep my license current.

There are no Israeli refugees. Palestinians are the longest refugee population in history, over 60 years because they are used as pawns against the West.
