Does America need a third party?

If the left focused on being more liberal, and the right became more conservative, perhaps a new Centrist party could be formed and thus provide the Americans stuck in the middle of the two parties a broad choice- we should not vote for a president we should vote for a party so we need them to be different

'jomellon' your comment made my day

Washington has to have their hand on everyone's issue and land but still americans question why the world despises them

Maybe its because your government has no respect for sovereignty and they veil their corporate Internets behind their grand issues of diplomacy and global security.

you protect profits, not people. be more real about your identity crisis.

Feeling the heat

Leftists leaders in Latin America our protecting their nations from foreign control and clinging to socialism but the model is still plagued with corruption and it tends to channel most income to interest payments(the rich). At least they mostly create wealth for their own people instead of the stock markets in New York.
Though I believe Chavez is not doing as good a job distributing wealth and implementing better macroeconomic policies as other left-leaning countries such as Argentina or Brasil, there is still no proof that socialist states don't create an equal amount of problems than capitalist states. AND Income inequality is still getting bigger and bigger across the globe.
call me a dependency theorist or a communist but I'm more reasonable and tend to look at both sides of the coin. Keep praising your capitalism but it needs just as much help as socialism.

The Tehran tango

I wonder why Washington has such a fuss over a nuclear Iran while they turn around and have no problem with nuclear India, Pakistan, or Israel... It drips red with hypocrisy.
This Turkish-Brasil-Iran deal is far better than the sanctions the 'West' wanted to implement, mainly the U.S.
Behruzhimo is completely accurate, and I believe the U.S. affair with Israel wants to keep Iran stagnate.

I think the health care bill got a lot of things wrong but ultimately it is a step in the right direction.
As far health care lobbyist influence on Obama, He gave them a lot of protection from future decrease in prices and revenue. The amount we end up saving on health care is roughly 2% from figures I've seen
2 percent is all Obama could settle for. So any hope of this industry actually running without the overpowering interest of profits instead of what it actually should care about, the people, is lost until we have a president with the balls to stand up to corporations and their lobbyist cronies.
