own national parliament & minimal powers in Brussels!
Nuclear power seems accident prone, but hopefully this can be sorted out,as can the cost factor. However is not nuclear fusion getting near the starting blocks?
OK But history shows that Africans are not the people to use Aid without huge wastage usually from graft & financial mismanagement.
At the same time Africans don't let competant people on site to run projects effectively.
Realist!
Follow the French - legislate minimum service levels to be applied in the event of a strike.Keep the actual suppliers of services and lay off 50% of the pen pushers. Same treatment all round should cut the Civil Service to a lean but effective machine.

Problem: The ANC is not the governing party as long as it includes COSATU & the Communist Party.Time to a)go it alone b)take hard decisions on who is appointed to do what, based on competance NOT affiliation to the ANC & c)get some control over the excessive wages settlements which follow the pattern Wages up 10% Employment down 10%

Cut such bodies as Health & Safety.Do not implement any EU directives(including oversight of the Budget),& decline to implement a lot of the directives in place already(as most of the rest of the EU does!)

The EU is more or less guaranteed to over impose so leave it to the democratically elected national bodies.JBN
I hope this is a start to forcing transparancy,& justification for the vast fees charged!
I must confess that my "no" vote largely results from a conviction that the French are untrustworthy & always have been!
