Police need to use their judgement when dealing with protesters. Just like we all do in our place of work. If Mr Tomlinson had been throwing bricks and acting aggressively towards the police, been hit and then collapsed and died - whilst it would still have been a tragedy that someone had been killled, you could possibly understand the policeman's actions. However, Mr Tomlinson was in London at the time selling newspapers and had been caught up in the disturbance. Walking away with his hands in his pockets, back to the police when he was struck. That was a mistake buy the single officer - not the rest of the police. We need to remember the police are humans and not one just organism.

@ St. Teilo: I agree 100%. I am currently reading Ghost Wars and the decisions faced 15 years ago are spookily similar to those that were finally made by President Obama on Sunday night. Should have got him in 1996 not 2011.

RIP Eddie. When I was younger, driving in the car with my family I used to count how many Eddie Stobart trucks I would see on our journey. Even now in my mid twenties I still find myself doing it subconciously. I grew up near an idustrial estate and every time without fail if you waved at a Eddie Stobart truck you were guaranteed they would honk their horn - something which I believe was a golden rule instilled by the owner. There was no bigger buzz for a bunch of ten year old kids.
