Latvian statesmen currently are hell-bent on solving internal political squabbles. It is worrying that those disputes and sentiments prevail over seeking a national consensus; not only among politicians but in a larger public as well. In all evidence, during the last two decades latvians are so used to political bickering that now are ready to accept having a national election almost every year. It is a bad sign for the country - people get apathetic, the politicians more self-centered and, as a consequence, the country more isolated.
