Get pen name help

All registered users are given customisable pen names that are linked to their Economist accounts and appear alongside anything they post to the site.

Creating your pen name

To create a pen name, you must first register. During registration, you’ll be asked to select a pen name. (If you don’t select a pen name, we’ll assign you a temporary one.)

Changing your pen name

If you already have an account and would like to change your temporary pen name:

1. Visit your account homepage.
2. Locate the pen name section and click Edit.
3. Enter your new pen name, then click Save.

You may change your pen name as often as you wish.
