An underestimated factor in football causing aggression, rage, psychosis, craziness and dementia is the widespread use of Anabolic Steroids. It may be the 400 lb Gorilla in the room (or else the cause of the monster).

Helmet armor and better head protection may lead to more trauma as invincible players think they can use their head as a battering ram.

Simple solution: Strict ban of Steroids with lifetime loss of play for violators.
